Glasser Preschool of Oak Park Temple is a part day play based program . Our purpose is to provide an educational foundation for young children including teachings of Judaism. Glasser Preschool promotes each child’s physical, emotional, educational, ethical, and social growth. Our classroom environment encourages children to make choices, develop a positive self-concept, and promote learning through experimentation and problem-solving. Glasser Preschool is seeking to fill one teaching positions for our half day preschool program. Our classrooms are co-taught by a two person teaching team – so all applicants must meet the Illinois DCFS qualifications for early childhood teachers.
Qualifications:
*Excellent communication skills and willingness to work in a team-teaching environment.
*At least 19 years of age and high school diploma or GED,
*At least one of the following:
1) Sixty semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester or nine quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six; or
2) One year (1560 clock hours) of child development experience in a nursery school, kindergarten, or licensed day care center and 30 semester hours (or 45 quarter hours) of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester or nine quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six; or
3) Completion of credentialing programs approved by Illinois DCFS
* Background and Medical clearances
*Ability to sit, stand, reach, walk, kneel, and to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds [reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities.]
*CPR/AED, First Aid, and Food Handler certified within 30 days of employment
*Meet all DCFS requiredments within 30 days of employment
Compensation:
*Salary based on a hourly rate (experience and education determines this rate)
