Gan Mah Tov Preschool is seeking an experienced and devoted Infant/Toddler Teacher to join our close-knit, supportive team. Who We Are
Gan Mah Tov is a Jewish, play-based, Reggio-inspired preschool located in the beautiful Trestle Glen/Park Blvd neighborhood of Oakland, California. We serve a diverse community of Jewish families, and our specialized Infant/Toddler program welcomes children ages 6 months to 24 months. Rooted in Jewish values, we’re dedicated to fostering joyful, meaningful connections with Jewish culture, Hebrew language, prayers, and holiday observances. We are committed to creating a nurturing space where children feel respected, comforted, and inspired to explore the world around them.
Infant/Toddler Teacher Responsibilities
- Create a warm, home-like environment that promotes safety, trust, and engagement, allowing babies and toddlers to feel secure as they learn and grow.
- Observe and thoughtfully document each child’s development, communicating milestones, achievements, and any areas of concern with parents to foster a strong home-school connection.
- Engage in rich, meaningful interactions with the children, talking, singing, and reading to promote language development and cognitive growth.
- Collaborate closely with other teachers, staff, and the Program Director to ensure the success of our Infant/Toddler program and align with Gan Mah Tov’s mission and values.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience working as a preschool or early childhood teacher; experience in a Jewish educational setting is preferred.
- Completion of 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units.
- Familiarity with developmentally appropriate practices and child-centered, play-based curriculum development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive, collaborative relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Knowledge of Jewish values, holidays, and traditions is preferred but not required.

Hours and Location
Gan Mah Tov Preschool is open from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, and from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm on Fridays. We are a nonprofit preschool located in Beth Jacob Congregation, a Modern Orthodox synagogue with a community-centered, enriching atmosphere.
