- Monday–Thursday: 1:00 PM – 5:00/5:30 PM
- Friday: 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Position Summary
Our Early Childhood Program is seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic Afternoon Floater & Aftercare Teacher to join our team. This individual will provide classroom support throughout the afternoon, assist teachers as needed, help maintain a safe and engaging learning environment, and supervise children during our aftercare program.
This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working with young children, is flexible, and thrives in a collaborative school environment.
Responsibilities
- Float between infant, toddler, preschool, and pre-kindergarten classrooms as needed.
- Support lead teachers with daily classroom routines and transitions.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play.
- Assist with snack time, classroom organization, and light cleaning throughout the day.
- Help children with toileting and handwashing as appropriate.
- Foster a warm, safe, and nurturing environment for all children.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members.
- Assist with the supervision and activities of children during the aftercare program.
- Follow all school policies, health and safety regulations, and licensing requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director or administration.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with young children is preferred but not required.
- Must enjoy working with children in a nurturing, team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and flexible.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to bend, kneel, squat, and sit on the floor with children.
- Ability to actively supervise children indoors and outdoors.
- Ability to stand and move throughout the workday.
