Who we are: Gan Ilan Preschool at Temple Isaiah is a play- and project-based, emergent curriculum preschool rooted in Jewish traditions. Gan Ilan "Garden of Trees" serves children ages 18 months-6 years old at this time. We believe strongly in the importance of fostering independence and inquiry, creating intentional environments, engaging in outdoor learning, facilitating social-emotional development, and respecting the child and the family. Little to no experience required, essential training provided at time of start, opportunities to continue education in early childhood available, and there are opportunities to move into regular teaching roles when they are available.
Who you are:
- Someone with experience working with children in any setting
- Passionate about early childhood education and child development
- Enthusiasm for working respectfully and collaboratively with children, families, and staff members
- Interested in the learning and development of young children
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills
- Ability to closely follow health and safety protocols
- Jewish education experience desirable
- Under supervision of qualified teacher 100% of the time, provide support for children ages 18 months and older, during our school program 8am-5pm supervised by a qualified (12+ units) teacher at all times.
- Support classroom curriculum, projects, and flow of the day, following guidance of teacher (12+ units).
- Work in collaboration with a classroom team of teachers and the entire school team
- Ability to follow Community Care Licensing regulations and school policies to maintain a healthy and safe learning environment for all students and staff
- Communicate with teaching team to understand and support any parent communication
- Communicate with Gan Ilan and Temple Isaiah staff, including the Director of Early Childhood Education, regarding children and programmatic needs, issues, etc. in a timely fashion
Salary is based on experience and education level and ranges from $21-$27/hr
The Hours:
Substitute roles are on call and as needed between the hours of 8am-5pm.
