About Us:
Netivot Shalom Preschool, a celebrated part of the Congregation Netivot Shalom synagogue family, serves children ages two through pre-kindergarten. Our full-day program, offering flexible core-hour and extended-day schedules, is rooted in a play-based, emergent curriculum, and developmentally appropriate practices. Guided by Judaic values, we emphasize compassion, peace, and repairing our world (tikkun olam). We encourage and inspire children to find beauty and wonder in the world around them as they learn through play.
We Have Two Exciting Positions Available:
- Full-Time Teacher: 30-40 hours per week
- Part-Time Assistant/Afternoon Teacher: 25-30 hours per week, with the possibility of transitioning to full-time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging, play-based lesson plans tailored to children’s developmental stages.
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Collaborate with co-teachers and staff to create a supportive, team-teaching atmosphere.
- Build strong relationships with children, families, and staff, emphasizing community and belonging.
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's growth and progress.
- Uphold and integrate Jewish values, such as kindness, empathy, and respect, into everyday teaching practices.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit to thrive in a team-teaching environment.
- Minimum 12 units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
- Clearance for fingerprints and TB testing.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- CPR Certification and Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in early childhood education (required); 3 years of childcare experience preferred.
