Gan Mah Tov Preschool is seeking a dedicated, experienced Preschool Teacher to join our team. Who We Are
Located in the beautiful Trestle Glen/Park Blvd neighborhood of Oakland, Gan Mah Tov is a Jewish, play-based, Reggio-inspired preschool serving a diverse community of Jewish families. With an emergent, child-led curriculum, we nurture each child’s sense of wonder, weaving Hebrew language, Jewish culture, values, and holiday traditions into our daily activities to build strong, proud Jewish identities.
Responsibilities
- Develop engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Inspire a love of Jewish learning and Israel, incorporating Jewish values, holidays, and Hebrew language into the curriculum.
- Create a nurturing, safe, and respectful classroom environment.
- Observe and assess each child’s progress, and communicate regularly with parents regarding their child’s achievements and any concerns.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, staff, and the program director to ensure the success of the Gan Mah Tov program.
Qualifications
- Experience as a preschool teacher; experience in a Jewish educational setting is preferred but not required.
- 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units required.
- Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices and curriculum development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of Jewish values, holidays, and traditions is a plus.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Work Hours
Preschool hours are 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 am – 4:00 pm on Fridays. Our nonprofit preschool of 30+ children is located in Beth Jacob Congregation, a Modern Orthodox synagogue.
