The Saul Spielberg Early Childhood Center (SSECC) is a nurturing and inclusive learning community grounded in Jewish values and the belief that every child enters the world with unlimited potential and an innate desire to learn. Our mission is to cultivate creative, self-directed, and inquisitive learners by fostering a sense of belonging and encouraging exploration through developmentally appropriate, child-centered experiences.
We are seeking a passionate and reflective Early Childhood Teacher to join our 3’s turning 4’s classroom. This role emphasizes co-constructing curriculum with children, following their interests, and facilitating meaningful, play-based learning experiences. The ideal candidate will embrace emergent curriculum approaches, such as Reggio Emilia, and demonstrate a commitment to fostering each child's growth within a collaborative and inclusive environment.
Curriculum Development: Observe and document children's play to identify emerging interests, and collaboratively design learning experiences that are responsive to these interests.
Learning Environment: Create and maintain a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom that encourages exploration, creativity, and independence.
Child-Led Learning: Facilitate activities that promote cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and language development, allowing children to take the lead in their learning journeys.
Family Engagement: Establish strong partnerships with families through regular communication, sharing observations, and involving them in the learning process.
Professional Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to reflect on teaching practices, share insights, and contribute to a cohesive educational team.
