Job Overview:
We are seeking a loving, patient, and enthusiastic Toddler Program Teacher to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with toddlers and a deep understanding of early childhood development. You will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment that promotes curiosity, independence, and positive interactions for children ages 18-36 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a play-based curriculum tailored to the developmental needs and interests of toddlers.
- Create a nurturing and responsive environment that fosters emotional security and encourages exploration and learning.
- Support toddlers in developing language, motor skills, and social-emotional growth through intentional and interactive activities.
- Maintain strong, positive relationships with families through regular communication about their child’s progress and developmental milestones.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to ensure continuity of care and learning.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that adheres to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 12 units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development (Infant/Toddler Development units preferred).
- Previous experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare or early education setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Fingerprint and TB clearance.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to lift 40 pounds and engage in active play with toddlers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a play-based, emergent curriculum setting.
- Understanding of toddler behavior and strategies for supporting challenging behaviors.
