Position Summary
The Kindergarten teacher is responsible for the care, instruction, and supervision of students assigned to their classroom. Reporting to the Elementary Division Head and working closely with the Director of Integrated Jewish Learning, the teacher plays a vital role in supporting the integration of Jewish values and content into the curriculum. As a core member of the elementary faculty team, the Kindergarten teacher collaborates with specialists and families to ensure each child’s academic and social-emotional growth. The teacher is expected to provide exemplary instruction, guidance, and motivation grounded in best practices, while demonstrating initiative in developing effective instructional strategies, materials, and classroom management techniques that reflect their individual strengths and teaching style. Teachers are also expected to maintain open communication with families, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute positively to the school community.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Teach core subjects (Reading/Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Jewish content) using the school’s standards-based curriculum.
- Demonstrate commitment to the school’s core values and mission.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials to provide differentiated instruction for individual and small group learning.
- Deliver instruction with attention to students’ developmental needs and learning styles.
- Integrate technology appropriately to enhance instruction and assessment.
- Maximize instructional time through well-structured, engaging lessons.
- Maintain consistent and effective classroom management.
- Communicate effectively and regularly with parents through conferences, written reports, and other methods.
- Engage in professional development and stay current with educational best practices.
- Maintain high expectations for student behavior, learning, and character.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited university
- Valid teaching certification
- Minimum of three years of classroom teaching experience
