Help our youngest learners feel secure, connected, and ready to explore.
Rodef Shalom Preschool, a small program within Congregation Rodef Shalom in southeast Denver, seeks an Infant–Toddler Lead Teacher who loves this stage of development and builds strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues. Join a team of three teachers caring for nine children ages six weeks to 18 months.
What you’ll help make possible
- Children feel safe and supported as they grow. Through responsive caregiving, floor-based play, and developmentally appropriate experiences, you’ll support exploration and growing independence. You’ll keep routines predictable while recognizing when a child needs an extra nap, more comfort, or a different approach.
- Families trust their child’s teachers. You’ll welcome questions with patience and help families understand their child’s experiences and development. You’ll document daily care and learning in our app, contribute to weekly newsletters and lesson plans, and promptly communicate concerns. When a conversation needs more support, you’ll partner with the directors.
- Teachers work as a team. You’ll set clear routines and share feeding, diapering, cleaning, comforting, and teaching fairly. You’ll lead while working alongside your team, offer timely, respectful feedback, and welcome ideas from colleagues at every experience level.
- Safety practices stay part of everyday care. You’ll model and reinforce required practices for safe sleep, bottle and breast milk handling, diapering, sanitation, and supervision. You’ll notice when a reminder or correction is needed, address it promptly, and involve the directors when appropriate.
- Qualifications to work as a lead teacher in Colorado; infant supervisor qualifications are preferred.
- Experience caring for and teaching infants, including children under 12 months.
- The ability to notice children’s needs and adapt within a group-care setting.
- Experience building trusting relationships with families and explaining observations clearly and kindly.
- A willingness to guide colleagues, give respectful feedback, and share all classroom responsibilities.
- The judgment to ask for help, communicate concerns, and take responsibility when something goes wrong.
Rodef Shalom Preschool is part of Congregation Rodef Shalom, an egalitarian Conservative synagogue that thinks of itself as an extended family.
