Part-Time/ Full Time Early Childhood Support Teacher
Maayan Torah Day School is a warm, nurturing Jewish private school seeking a caring, flexible, and dependable Part-Time Support Teacher to join our early childhood team. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with young children, thrives in a variety of classroom settings, and is excited to learn and grow with us.
Our early childhood program serves children from infancy through 5 years of age. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys variety in their day and loves building relationships with children and teachers across multiple classrooms.
About the Position
This position plays an important role in supporting our teaching team. The primary responsibilities include providing classroom coverage for:
- Teacher breaks
- Teacher prep time
- One-on-one meetings
- Staff meetings and other scheduled coverage needs
- Office or Curriculum Support for Teachers
Because you'll be supporting classrooms throughout the program, you should be comfortable working with all age groups, from infants through preschoolers.
Our regular school schedule is:
- Monday–Thursday: 8:20 AM – 3:30 PM
- Friday: 8:20 AM – 2:30 PM
We also offer extended care:
- Morning Care: 7:30 AM – 8:20 AM
- Aftercare (Monday–Thursday): 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM
- Aftercare (Friday): 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM
Flexible Opportunities
This position is primarily part-time, with the potential for additional hours depending on school needs and your availability.
There are opportunities to:
- Pick up substitute hours when teachers are absent
- Work in our morning care or aftercare programs
- Take on additional scheduled coverage as needed
For the right candidate, this role has the potential to grow into a larger position over time.

Maayan Torah Day School is a religious Jewish school, and our classrooms include Jewish traditions and religious curriculum as part of the school day. You do not need to be Jewish to work here, but applicants should be comfortable working in a faith-based school environment and supporting our school's mission and values.

Requirements
As a licensed childcare facility, the following certifications are required upon hire. Most can be completed online, with the exception of CPR and First Aid, which require in-person training.
Required upon hire:
- Enrollment in the Oregon Criminal History Registry
- Food Handler's Card
- Infant/Toddler CPR & First Aid Certification
- Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect
- Introduction to Health and Safety
- Safe Sleep for Infants and Toddlers
- Prevention Is Better Than Treatment
- Foundations for Learning
