High School Student Intern! Assistant Teaching Job

Come work as part of the Temple Beth Shalom team, teaching in our preschool classes for children ages 12 months through five years.

• You are at least 16 years old.
• You value and promote children’s play. You are eager to get down on the floor to build with blocks or join in for a game of tag on the playground.
• You are curious about the child’s perspective, seek to understand child guidance in a developmental context and are alert to the learning process for each child. You understand that young children are learning from the world around them.
• You ask for help, and accept suggestions. You are eager to learn about young children and how they develop.
• You maintain confidentiality and are diligent about health and safety, offering emotional and physical comfort and caring to your young students.
• You are a high school student who wants to give back to the community.
• You are a mature role model who sees and promotes the good in others.
• You are able to participate actively in children’s learning. Our hands-on, active approach to learning includes frequent reaching, stooping, sitting on the floor, bending, occasional lifting and carrying, and supervising children’s active play.

HOURS

Teaching from 3-6pm or 4-6pm 3-5 days per week. More hours available if you prefer! We can work around your class schedule.
